ITF-14 barcodes are 14-digit codes that should be affixed to the outer shipping cartons or delivery boxes that hold your retail products. Each shipping carton should include a certain number of your retail products, for example, 24 cans of baked beans.

Sometimes, ITF-14 barcodes are also called Shipping Container Codes (SCC-14), Carton Codes, or GTIN-14 barcodes. Your retailer will scan the ITF-14 barcode on each shipping carton as it arrives at their warehouse. The ITF-14 barcode will indicate the number of units of your product that are present in each shipping carton, for instance, 24 cans of baked beans.

This data will be subsequently documented in their inventory management or logistics system to help them monitor their stock in the warehouse.cartons The ITF-14 barcodes are usually created from the barcode number which is on the retail product within the box (the EAN-13 or UPC number). Up to 10 different ITF-14 barcodes can be created from one EAN-13 or UPC number.

If you require ITF-14 Barcodes, kindly order them through the form below. Please enter your EAN-13 or UPC-A barcode numbers into the designated box before proceeding to check out. We will utilise these numbers to create your ITF-14 barcode images.

Once we receive your order, our team will manually generate the ITF-14 barcode and send it via email. The process usually takes 2-24 hours, depending on the date and time of your order. Our standard operating hours are from 7am to 7pm Monday through Friday, on New Zealand time. Orders are occasionally processed on Saturdays, subject to availability.

Which ITF-14 Carton Code goes with which EAN-13 barcode?

The easy way to tell which carton code goes with which EAN is to look at your EAN numbers. Ignore the last digit (13th digit) as that is a checksum of all the other numbers. Look at the last 3 digits. You will see they are the same on the EAN as the ITF – just the ITF has a 1 at the front.

For example EAN 0799439079083 has ending checksum digit 3. Ignore this last digit; the barcode ends 908. It’s corresponding ITF would also end 908 and then have a checkdigit added at the end. It has a 1 at the front so it would be 1079943907908x (where x is the checkdigit) and in this case the checkdigit is 0, so the final number is 10799439079080. Note, when our automation produces the barcode images, it includes the checkdigit in the image, but leaves is out of the file name – so in this example, the images would be named 1079943907908.
